The Ecological Self
“The power of the elements, the birth, growth, and vanishing of other beings, the alternation of light and dark that enframe our own inner landscape—the inner and outer dimensions of nature are one”. Andreas Weber
Inspired by the living landscapes and animals of southern Saskatchewan, integral education, eco-psychology, and the contemplative & expressive arts, this four-week course is intended as a portal to greater intimacy with self, nature & the ‘more-than-human’ world. The invitation of the course is a deepening into the felt-experience of belonging and re-membering our place in the family of things. Through readings, discussions and creative experiential exercises in nature, we’ll explore our innate capacity for presence and connection. Moving away from the idea of a separate self, we’ll cultivate relationship with our inner and outer landscapes.
Mindfulness-centered, somatic, nature-based practice
EMBODIED SPIRITUALITY
SELF-DISCOVERY, MINDFUL INQUIRY
SHARED GROUND OF BEING
Gentle yet powerful assisted self-study
Mindfulness-centered somatic counseling
This gently guided one-on-one work focuses on present moment experience and uses mindfulness to uncover how past experiences shape current emotions and behaviours. facilitating healing and self-discovery. Although sessions include talking, emphasis is on an experiential approach, based in the body, which goes beyond words to access that which defines and shapes day-to-day experience. Previously unconscious material comes to conscious awareness to be worked with, transforming the way we experience life.
